Term start: Elected candidates will be onboarded, and new board/committee members will begin their term on July 1, 2024.
Open Roles
The board is looking to fill nine (9) two-year seats, with a term through 2026.
A Nominating Committee ensures that member interests are represented and that the AIGA Jacksonville board retains a fresh and diverse perspective. This process is open and inclusive, and anyone who completes the nomination form is considered.
The criteria for identifying the Nominating Committee of 3-5 individuals outside the current board are as follows:
1 member of the prior year’s nominating committee
1 member of the current board who is stepping down
1-2 former members of the board (past presidents are good choices)
1 non-board member who is active in AIGA and understands boards
The current president of the board (or president-elect) is not allowed to serve on the nominating committee to avoid the opportunity to anoint a successor
Board member participation As chapter leaders of a professional membership association, every board member is expected to participate in AIGA Jacksonville as an active member for the duration of their board service. Once voted to the board, board members must be paying members per our A 501(c)(3) status requirements.
Board duties and responsibilities Our chapter is powered 100% by volunteers. The organization’s success is directly related to the involvement of our community. As a board, the Board of Directors and committee are expected to:
Participate in and contribute to pillars: Education, Programming, Communications, and Membership

Be present at monthly board meetings and weekly pillar meetings
Have a residence and/or employment in the Jacksonville or St. Augustine area
Spend at least 5 hours per week volunteering their time to AIGA Jacksonville*
Commit to a two-year board term*
*Please review the position description for more information
Completing the Nomination Form Any individual willing to participate and fulfill the obligations of board service may self-nominate by completing and submitting the nomination form by midnight on May 18, 2024. The nominee does not need to be a member at the time of nomination but will be expected to become a member if approved. Each nominee is expected to complete the online form so that the nominating committee may consider the credentials of all candidates individually and comparatively. If you have questions about the form or the nomination process, please contact nominations [at] jacksonville.aiga.org.
The nomination form is designed to help the nominee prepare and present their qualifications consistently and assures that the committee has the same information on all candidates.
The Nominations Committee will review applications through May 31, 2024, to fill the open seats on the board of directors for a two-year term beginning July 2024. The Committee will then recommend a single candidate for each open position to the board. AIGA Jacksonville members will then vote on the board slate to ratify the board.
We thank you in advance for your interest in joining the AIGA Jacksonville board.
