Looking for a fresh start to your day? Don’t kick that caffeine habit just yet, because The Morning Leak provides the perfect shot of inspiration with that espresso. This AIGA Jacksonville morning meet up features local designers sharing their recent or current work in something of a professional show and tell. Attendees get an inside look at what the designers in their community are up to, so grab a cup of joe and come out to this bi-monthly event. The next one will be in August!

This month, Katya Cajas kicked things off by showing her designs from some recent issues of Folio Weekly, as well as several absolutely beautiful illustrations. She also showed some innovative CD packaging, which presents the disc in a “pop-up” format.

Cory Kolb presented next on the process of creating the “Rise from the Ashes” mural for One Spark. He described the process of wheat-pasting posters, and how it truly is a labor of love. You can see this mural in Downtown Jacksonville on 20 W. Adams Street.

His partner in crime, Eric Hinote was up next with some impressive email designs for an automotive company. Who knew that email templates could be beautiful and responsive? Check out some of the links that Eric mentioned in his presentation here and here.

Next up was Adam Price, who showed a catalog design he had been working on, as well as several personal projects including an automotive blog and clothing line. One of the recent web projects he talked about was a blog that cultivated conversations about the 2nd amendment.

Dennis Eusebio wrapped things up with a mobile app for automotive enthusiasts, which has a function similar to dribbble. He stepped us through the process from wire framing to final testing of the app.

Don’t miss next month’s Morning Leak, whether you’d like to present your latest project or hear what others have to say. We’ll be at CoWork Jacksonville bright and early at 7:30am.

If you’d like to share a project, contact us at membership@aigajacksonville.org to reserve your spot.

We’d like to say a big thank you to CoWork Jacksonville for generously offering their space, and also a huge thanks to our sponsors, Folio Weekly and Character Counts.

See you next time at The Morning Leak!
