Join Us This Week at The Morning Leak

February is the shortest month of the year, so don’t waste a moment—or a morning. Join us for AIGA Jacksonville’s The Morning Leak, the perfect start to your day at the St. John’s Town Center Panera Bread. During this monthly meet up, local artists and designers give each other an inside look at what they are currently working on. So set those alarm clocks and rise and shine, because we’ll be there at 7:30am.

Last month, Jessi Bruton started us off with examples from her recently re-vamped portfolio. She explained the process of organizing one’s work and how Behance.com and her AIGA membership gave her an easy outlet for presentation.

Next, Andrew Fallon displayed his show reel from Tiger Lily Media, a compilation of motion design, commercial media, and animation. He also showed work he’s done with Art Behind the Fridge, and time lapse photography using 2D and 3D animation.

Thomas Stevens and his group from Keiser explained that one of their assignments was to use the AIGA’s recent Krung Fu event poster as inspiration and create one of their own. They showed their Reservoir Dog inspired “Raster Dogs” poster, featuring the five group members.

Likewise, Sherri Richmond (also from Keiser) joined her group in speaking about their poster, “Battle for Designicons”— a Transformers inspired promotion. Both posters captured the spirit of the movies they were emulating, and the Krung Fu promo that inspirited them.

Last was Ryan Ketterman with his most recent photographic projects. The first were editorial shots featuring an independent banker, and the second were an artistic lumberjack shoot. The later even featured a live chainsaw in front of a plexiglass wall.
Don’t miss this week’s Morning Leak, whether you’d like to present your latest project or check out what’s going on in your community. We’ll be seated near the back of Panera Breat at St. John’s Town Centre bright an early at 7:30am.

If you’d like to share a project, contact us at membership@aigajacksonville.org to reserve your slot. Also check out who else is coming at our event page on Facebook!

See you this week at The Morning Leak!
