Is kicking that caffeine habit one of your New Years resolutions? How about getting more sleep? Well give it another week because The Morning Leak is back for another morning of coffee, camaraderie and creative show and tell. Through this monthly meet up at the St. John’s Town Center Panera Bread, local artists and designers get an inside look at what their peers are currently working on. So indulge in that final 2011 cup of brew and come on out.
Last month, Marissa Ratliff kicked things off- presenting her Sweet n’ Flour brand with its custom designed stamps, cards and website. She described the learning experience that came with being a designer, and working with another designer on her personal brand.
Next up was Cher Davis with bookmarks she designed for a local competition. With their bold colors and contemporary shapes, she spoke about her inspiration in finding different stylistic approaches.
Ben Winsor presented a coupon promo sheet in its various phases. He also spoke about pushing design within limited boundaries and a corporate area. He encouraged everyone to find a middle ground during projects like his.
Jim Ward was next with an illustration design for the AIGA Jax’s team within the AAF bowling competition. He explained the process of the illustration from concept sketch to digital finishing, then revealed color choices and later— t-shirts!
