JAMA presents: Animatronics to Dark Rides

Chairman and CEO of the Sally Corporation, John H. Wood, is going to lead the Jacksonville American Marketing Association’s (JAMA) monthly breakfast program on April 28. From 7:30am to 9:00am, he will present the marketing history of his unique company beginning with the first brochures created and walking through three decades of marketing challenges and successes.

Created in 1977, Sally Corp is based in Jacksonville and specializes in the development of animatronics productions, theme park rides and major theme-park attractions. As one of the founders of the company, Wood has been a very influential key player in the company’s worldwide appearance in the theme park and attraction industries.  Wood has stayed very active in the amusement park field and is currently the director of the International Board of the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA). He has also served as a director to the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA).  

Wood is a native to Jacksonville and keeps himself involved in a number of community activities. Presently, he is the director for the Florida Shrine Bowl and also serves on the Executive Board of North Florida Boy Scouts. Wood is a graduate of Wake Forest University.
