As a part of an effort to provide the best possible experience to our membership, AIGA Jacksonville tapped members, non-members and the community for feedback and got into the nitty-gritty with some honest dialogue. A small, diverse group was involved in the discussion and we’re grateful for the valuable info we were able to gather on the topic of social engagement, and its application to many areas of AIGA: outreach, diversity, programming, mentorship and sponsorship/partnership
The best way of assuring the relevance and leadership of the design profession and individual members is to begin to successfully engage even more people outside of our profession and for designers to be seen as significant contributors to community, civic and global solutions. If designers are seen as problem solvers who address problems that affect others, it will enhance their value and their role as leaders—in business, in society and in change.
Although the roundtable discussion has passed, we’d like to hear from you too! Feel free to email questions or comments on how you think AIGA Jacksonville is serving you to membership@aigajacksonville.org for your chance to contribute.
