Defending Your (Astro)Turf

A dark room. A glowing screen. The glare of the projected light glinting off the many square-rimmed glasses; and behind them, the intense, focused glare of a designer with the drive to succeed. It might have seemed like another ordinary night in the life of a designer, but that night, more than just pride was on the line. Designers from all over Jacksonville gathered to compete, and to determine who would be…. The Last Man Standing.

It was virtual golf night at LINQE!

August 13th, AIGA Jacksonville hosted Cocktails & Creatives’ virtual golf night at LINQE on Beach Blvd to much success! Over 45 people showed up to mingle and observe virtual games of golf. LINQE donated golf clubs and a simulator, and to top it all off, the drink specials were over par – $2 drafts and $1 off glasses of wine! Creatives new and old mixed and mingled, and enjoyed friendly competition. From self-proclaimed masters sinking aces to the “greener” golfers calling “four!”, not a single moment was to be missed!

After 5 hours of fun-filled, complimentary virtual golf, the competition was over and Tim Rahn, with the Highest Individual Score, claimed his prize – a $10 gift card to LINQE! And congratulations to the putterer, Brittany Norris who was awarded a complimentary drink/appetizer coupon for the Lowest Individual Score! But golf gurus and greenhorns weren’t the only ones to win prizes; congratulations to Gray Solomon who won a $10 gift card in the business card drawing!

As always, a big thank you to everyone who came out and supported AIGA. Thanks for making the night a blast!

Check out pictures of all the fun and we’ll see you at the next C&C!
