Cocktails & Creatives: August

The excitement of the Summer Olympics seems to be wearing off, but we kept it going full force last week at the August Cocktails & Creatives. Instead of the usual social, AIGA took over the patio at Fionn MacCool’s Irish Pub, where five countries of creatives competed in the AIGA Olympics to win the GOLD.

All attendees were appointed a country on arrival and were tasked to find there fellow countrymen before the games began. Once our Lady President, Karen Kurycki, kicked off the event, each team had to nominate four Olympians to represent their country.

Each team was tested for their speed, strength, balance, agility and coloring skills. Games included Kleenex Klean Out, Design Book Balance, Tea Time Flip Cap, M&Ms Suck It Up and Olympic Rings Coloring Relay.

It all came down to the tie breaker for the silver and bronze medals between Great Britain, South Africa and New Zealand in the Coloring Relay. It was a close call, but Great Britain picked up the silver medal and New Zealand claimed the bronze by seconds.

Who won gold you ask…AND a hearty appetizer? Who other than the Almighty TEAM USA!

Thanks to everyone that came out and made this event a success!
