Citrus Cel Juried Art Show & Character Design Student Competition Deadline Extension

The deadline for submissions for the inaugural Citrus Cel Animation Festival Juried Art Show and Design in Character Student Competition has been extended til Friday, March 19, 2010.

The art show will celebrate the art of storytelling – showing the elements of the process, the pieces that put the story together. So whether it involves sketches, storyboards, character designs, etc, we hope you’ll take part in the art show to display those elements for visitors, so they can get an insight into what is involved with finished animated works.

We are looking to showcase illustrative works in the general narrative, concept design, character design, storyboards, graphic novels and children’s books. Mainly work that lends itself to be animated. If you’ve created amazing, inspirational work, we would love to have your representation in the show for this inaugural year.

If you’re a student, this is your opportunity to show off your character designs in the Design in Character Student Competition! The competition will celebrate the art of character design and is only open to current students. It will be shown in conjunction with the festival’s Juried Art Show.

The First Annual Citrus Cel Animation Festival will be held in Jacksonville, Florida, April 9-11, 2010 and is hosted by Dripsblack, AIGA Jacksonville and 5Points Theater. The Juried Art Show and Design in Character Student Competition will take place in the Art Center and will be on display April 9 & 10. In addition, selected works will be on display Wednesday, April 7, for Downtown Art Walk.
